American kids reacting to Bin Laden’s death

This activity features a Fine Brothers Kids React video of American children answering questions on the death of Osama Bin Laden. The idea is simple: get your students to ask each other the same questions before watching and taking notes on the video. Suitable for upper-intermediate and advanced students. Here goes …

Step One : The Questions

  • In the video, the kids are shown Obama’s televised announcement of Bin Laden’s death and then asked 12 questions to see how they react. Ask your students to discuss the same questions in pairs or small groups before showing them the video of their responses. Note : Given the fact that your students are unlikely to be Americans, I have substituted the pronouns we and us for they and them.
  • If you have time, you may like to show your students Obama’s announcement before asking them to go through the questions.

Step Two : The Video

  • Show the video and ask your students to make notes on what the kids say.
  • Get feedback and finish up with a little open-class discussion on how kids interpret the world around them.

Hope you find this activity useful!
